• Two suspects arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Fruitland Park (leesburg-news.com) — Fruitland Park police recently arrested two people after a traffic stop on U.S. 27/441 led to the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in their vehicle. Officers say a K-9 alerted to narcotics, and a search uncovered multiple baggies of drugs and a backpack linked to one of the occupants. Both suspects were booked into Lake County Jail on drug-related and license-suspension charges.
   

• Barbara Fay Silver (leesburg-news.com) — Fruitland Park is mourning the loss of 65-year-old Barbara Fay Silver, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away on May 7. Her family remembers her adventurous spirit, deep love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the many memories she created with friends and relatives; services will be held at a later date.
