• 308-home development takes step forward in Fruitland Park (leesburg-news.com) — A 308-home subdivision called Kensington Gardens is moving closer to reality in Fruitland Park, with a special master recommending approval and sending it to the City Commission. Planned off U.S. 27 near Grays Airport Road, the project includes annexation, rezoning, and a full amenity center with pool, pickleball, playgrounds, and sidewalks. If approved, site work could begin as soon as late 2026. 
• Convicted felon stopped with ammo and fentanyl says it's all for family (leesburg-news.com) — A traffic stop by Fruitland Park police led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man after officers reported finding fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and 9mm ammunition in his vehicle. Dispatch later confirmed he is a convicted felon, prompting additional weapons-related charges. He was taken to Lake County Jail, where his bond was set at $13,500.
