• Indian Rocks Beach city commission to vote on possible ban on cigarettes and vapes on beaches (wfla.com) — Indian Rocks Beach commissioners are set to take a final vote Tuesday on banning cigarettes and vapes along the city's public beaches, with fines up to $500 and possible jail time. Supporters say the move will cut litter and protect wildlife, while some residents argue it restricts personal freedom. If approved, the ordinance would take effect immediately. 
• Sea turtles rescued from Indian Rocks Beach storm drain, improper lighting blamed (fox13news.com) — Rescuers in Indian Rocks Beach pulled several disoriented sea turtles from a storm drain along Gulf Boulevard and safely returned them to the shore. Officials blame improper beachfront lighting and say the city has issued 82 code violation letters this year to enforce turtle-friendly rules. Leaders are also working with Duke Energy to ensure streetlights meet turtle-compliance standards.
