Allstate Employees Partner Together for Bring Out the Good Month
Jacksonville and Orlando Allstate employees partner together for Bring Out the Good Month
“At Allstate, we believe in improving lives and making communities stronger,” says Dorothy Bier, Allstate Event Leader.
Throughout April, Allstate employees and agency owners across the country volunteered their time to address pressing social needs.
Recently, 265 Jacksonville and Orlando-based Allstate employees and agency owners banded together with the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Foundation and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The Allstate volunteers’ helped clean up the Jacksonville beach and assisted in sorting food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida organization. The volunteer project was part of Allstate’s annual Bring Out the Good Month. Held in April, Bring Out the Good Month encourages Allstate employees to volunteer for and donate to causes they care about in their local communities.
This volunteer project was one of hundreds supported by nearly 13,000 Allstaters. Together, Allstate employees and agency owners also raised more than $7 million for more than 8,000 nonprofit organizations.
“Bring Out the Good Month has special meaning for Allstaters,” adds Bier. “It’s a time we can come together around the country to volunteer for the causes we’re passionate about and help staff soup kitchens, mentor youth and beautify community spaces. Supporting others is truly our purpose and it’s a source of pride for us.”
The Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Foundation oversees community projects to protect the beach areas. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Their mission is to create hope and nourish lives through a powerful hunger relief network, while multiplying the generosity of a caring community.
In addition to volunteering during Allstate’s Bring Out the Good Month, Allstaters are encouraged to support local nonprofits throughout the year. In 2016, Allstate employees and agency owners donated 230,000 volunteer hours and supported more than 8,800 nonprofits with monetary donations.
