Due to unprecedented national labor shortages, the City of Jacksonville will suspend curbside recycling collection services starting Monday, October 4. This temporary suspension will allow crews to dedicate limited resources and personnel to the collection of garbage and yard waste.
Mayor Lenny Curry said, “This has been a difficult decision. We understand that this is frustrating and are working on multiple fronts to improve waste collection services. We look forward to the day we can resume curbside recycling collection, and we thank citizens for their patience during this challenging time.”
All curbside recycling collection will be temporarily suspended beginning October 4. In the interim, citizens may bring their recyclables to one of 14 locations throughout Jacksonville. There is no cost. Hours for recycling drop-off will be Monday through Saturday from sunrise to sunset.
