Community Blood Drive For Local Boy Battling Brain Cancer Set For May 22

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will host a community blood drive on May 22, 2021 in honor of a local cancer patient, Liam Mickley. Liam, an eight-year-old St. Augustine native, is currently fighting medulloblastoma, a rare brain cancer that has resulted in two brain surgeries, three procedures and several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. He has received multiple blood transfusions throughout his treatment.
All blood types are needed, though LifeSouth is currently in emergency need of Type O blood.All eligible blood donors are encouraged to attend this drive to support the Mickley family and the local blood supply. All donors will receive a $10 e-gift card as a thank you for participating. Masks and social distancing will be enforced.
