Fletcher High School Football Players Design Helmet Decal To Memorialize Deceased Officer

Fletcher high school football players have designed a helmet decal to memorialize a deceased police officer whose son is on the team.

If they choose to do so, players will wear the decal on their helmets beginning with tonight’s game against Flagler Palm Coast.

The decal includes the deceased officer’s initials and badge number.

“All along, this was about finding the best way for these students to express themselves,” said Dean Ledford, principal of the school. “I am proud of these guys for how they want to have a voice and how they have worked through this process. These are future leaders.”
