Hurricane Irma Aftermath: Latest Jacksonville-Area Cellphone Outages

Overall, the FCC said 5.8 percent of cell sites in Florida were out of service Saturday, down from 8.5 percent Friday.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — No Florida county has more than 50 percent of its cell sites out, federal officials said, and just three counties — all in southern Florida — had 20 percent or more of their cell sites out.

The Federal Communications Commission on Saturday updated its breakdown of cellphone outages by county in a status report on communications services.

Overall, the FCC said 5.8 percent of cell sites in Florida were out of service Saturday, down from 8.5 percent Friday and 13.4 percent a day earlier. Georgia and Alabama were completely restored Friday. Duval County

  • 19 cell sites were out, or 2.4 percent (down from 3.8 percent).

St. Johns County

  • 16 cell sites were out, or 6.4 percent (down from 11.2 percent).

Clay County

  • Six cell sites were out, or 3.4 percent (way down from 5.1 percent).

Bradford County

  • Zero cell sites was out, or 0 percent (down from 4.5 percent).

Union County

  • Zero cell sites were out, (no change).

Baker County

  • Two cell sites were out, or 9.1 percent (up from 4.5 percent).

Nassau County

  • Four cell sites were out, or 3.7 percent (down from 7.3 percent).
