Hurricane Irma: Latest Jacksonville-Area Cellphone Outages

JACKSONVILLE, FL — More and more Floridian pockets, purses and pocketbooks are starting to chirp, chime and buzz as cell sites get back up and running.
The Federal Communications Commission on Friday updated its breakdown of cellphone outages by county in a status report on communications services.
Overall, the FCC said 8.5 percent of cell sites in Florida were out of service Friday, down from 13.4 percent Thursday and 18.1 percent a day earlier. Georgia and Alabama were completely restored Friday. Duval County
- 31 cell sites were out, or 3.8 percent (down from 8.7 percent).
St. Johns County
- 28 cell sites were out, or 11.2 percent (slightly down from 11.6 percent).
Clay County
- Nine cell sites were out, or 5.1 percent (way down from 17.4 percent).
Bradford County
- One cell sites was out, or 4.5 percent (down from 13.6 percent).
Union County
- Zero cell sites were out, (down from 15.4 percent).
Baker County
- One cell sites was out, or 4.5 percent (way down from 18.2 percent).
Nassau County
- Eight cell sites were out, or 7.3 percent (down from 16.5 percent).
