JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — (Oct. 28, 2021) — 121 Financial (“One to One”), Jacksonville’s hometown credit union, today announces the launch of four new Hometown Credit Card offerings with rewards and benefits that rival those offered by national, “big bank” institutions. However, the new credit cards, which are also branded as the “Official Credit Union of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp” and include the Jumbo Shrimp logo, solely benefit the local Jacksonville economy, as nonprofit credit union 121 Financial invests 100% of its available capital back into consumer mortgages and business loans in Northeast Florida.

“We have always dedicated ourselves to providing our neighbors with resources that help them improve their financial outlook and future, and our new credit card offerings again illustrate our commitment to investing in our local economy and providing our members with more options,” said David Marovich, president and chief executive officer of 121 Financial Credit Union. “Now, our members can reap the benefits of major national credit card institutions at their hometown credit union and ensure that any profit generated from their use stays 100% local.”
The four new Hometown Credit Cards – all of which charge no annual, application, foreign transaction, balance transfer or over-limit fees – offer tiered benefits depending upon the card selected as well as interest rates far lower than national brands. Two cards, the Visa® Signature Rewards and Visa® Cash Rewards, generate generous rewards with double points for every dollar spent, which can be applied toward statement balances and prior purchases and soon for direct purchases on Amazon (December 2021). Both cards also offer robust introductory offers, including 50,000 and 25,000 bonus points when minimum spend totals are reached during the first 90 days after issuance.
“Consumers have been leveraging credit card rewards for quality-of-life purchases for years, such as travel, shopping and more, yet now they can reap all of those same benefits with their hometown credit union,” added Marovich. “There is no longer a need to spend countless hours figuring out which national credit cards, with all their hefty fees, can best suit your lifestyle. And, every time you make a purchase, you help your neighbors achieve their own financial goals. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
The Hometown Visa® Platinum card offers one of the lowest Annual Percentage Rates (APR) available, starting at 8.99%. For those who are building or repairing credit, the Hometown Visa® Platinum Secured card also offers a competitive APR.
All new credit cards provide 24/7 fraud protection and offer mobile or contactless payments, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and other popular payment apps. Users can also easily control their cards online or via mobile app, with the ability to lock/unlock cards, add users and perform additional actions remotely.
