JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2021) — JAXUSA Partnership held its fourth quarter luncheon Tuesday, which recognized SSA Atlantic, LLC, as the 2021 International Company of the Year and Gary Norcross as 2021 International Individual of the Year. Through this recognition, the annual fourth quarter JAXUSA Partnership luncheon focuses on the company and individual that have made a difference on the international front in our region. The International Awards were presented by PNC Bank.

 

            SSA Atlantic was recognized as the 2021 International Company of the Year for its historic agreement with JAXPORT to construct 80 acres of port property for SSA’s International Gateway Terminal at Blount Island. Additionally, SSA Atlantic demonstrated its commitment to through an investment in JAXPORT’s harbor deepening project. The deepening project will increase the St. Johns River channel from 40 feet to 47 feet larger vessels to increase service for Asian shipping lines to Jacksonville.  

 

            FIS Chairman, President and CEO Gary Norcross was awarded International Individual of the Year for his leadership in keeping the company’s global headquarters in Jacksonville, a decision which exemplified his recognition of the strength of Jacksonville’s workforce, infrastructure and pro-business environment. Additionally, Norcross’ involvement in the Worldpay acquisition shaped the Fortune 500 company into a global powerhouse to advance the way the world pays, banks and invests.

 

"Doing business on a global level is one of the keys to a thriving, dynamic local economy," JAXUSA President Aundra Wallace said. "Both SSA Atlantic and Gary Norcoss are two examples that help put our community into the conversation when international companies are looking to invest and do business in the United States."

 

The JAXUSA Partnership luncheon was sponsored by Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, PNC Bank, PRI Productions, Sandler Training, TruTechnology and VyStar Credit Union. Spencer Levy, CBRE global chief client officer and senior economic advisor delivered the keynote address.
