JAX Chamber: JEA Chief Operating Officer Raynetta Curry Marshall Named WEF Fellow

As a Water Environment Federation Fellow, Marshall joins a class of 15 Fellows, professionals from across the country who have been recognized for their expertise in design, education, operations, regulation, research, utility management and leadership.

In August 2021, Marshall joined JEA to lead utility operations and the teams that provide reliable, affordable, safe utility services to more than one million Northeast Florida residents. Marshall has more than 35 years of experience in utility management. During her career, she has conducted planning analyses for water and wastewater systems; managed the design, engineering and construction of various capital improvement projects; directed large-scale utility programs and provided administrative oversight for water utility system planning and new development.Before coming to JEA as COO, Marshall served as general manager of the Underground Utilities & Public Infrastructure Department in Tallahassee, Fla. Prior to that, she served in several leadership roles at JEA from 2011 to 2019, including director of water/wastewater planning and development and director of water/wastewater project engineering and construction. Marshall is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and a bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Howard University. ”It is a great honor to be named a WEF Fellow. Knowing many others before me who hold this designation makes me deeply humbled,” Marshall said. “For many of us, preserving and enhancing the water environment is not a job or even a career; it is a calling and a commitment.”

Marshall will be honored Oct. 19 at the WEF Awards Celebration Presidential Ceremony in Chicago.
