Train Like a Pro at the New D1 Training in Kendall

D1 Training, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, recently opened a new location in Kendall at 12568 N Kendall Dr. The new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.
In celebration of the new location’s launch, Kendall neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team at its grand opening event, which will also feature local recovery, health beverages and food, lots of swag, a showcase of our world -class facility and coaches, and much more…
The new facility will be owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Paloma Roumain and Edwens Prophete, who join a roster of impressive D1 franchisees that includes former professional and collegiate athletes. Additional D1 partners include NBA star Chris Paul and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.
Prophete, CEO of Hope Thrives/Haitian Christian Mission, has led efforts in Southeast Haiti to build schools, health and surgical clinics, sports fields, and housing for more than 300 families, while also importing high quality Haitian Coffee, Mokafe Coffee, to local markets and coffee shops accross the U.S., which birth the Mokafe Cup of Hope, a coffee initiative supporting hundreds of local farmers. Roumain spent more than a decade in project management with RR Construction, where she oversaw large-scale developments and introduced new service offerings. Today, she runs Books & Numbers LLC, a bookkeeping firm helping small businesses streamline operations and grow. In Miami, they are both involved in real estate development in the residential market.
Drawing on their combined experience in leadership and entrepreneurship, the couple wanted to pursue a business that aligned with their passions while serving the Kendall community. Recognizing the area’s strong youth sports culture, they set out to create a space where young athletes could sharpen their skills, build confidence, and learn proper training techniques to succeed both on and off the field.
“For us, this is about more than just athletics, it is about giving kids a space to grow, gain confidence, and discover what they are capable of,” said Prophete. “Sports can teach lessons that go far beyond the field, and our goal is to create an environment where those lessons are front and center.”
D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers group, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.
“Paloma and Edwens are the ideal candidates to bring the D1 Training experience to Kendall,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the D1 family and are confident in their ability to show the Kendall area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their athletic goals. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Paloma and Edwens will do just that in Kendall and its surrounding communities.”
Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 150 facilities open with over 100 additional locations in various stages of development. The brand is currently seeking financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs, who share a passion for fitness and youth sports, who are ready to make a positive impact on their community.
