16-Year-Old Homicide Suspect Sought In Polk County: Sheriff
A teen suspect is accused of two shootings, including the death of a 17-year-old in Haines City, Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

POLK COUNTY, FL — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance in the search for a 16-year-old homicide suspect.
A warrant has been issued for Detrayvis “Ray Ray” McGriff, who is being charged with first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery in a July 21 homicide and a second, but related, shooting about 15 minutes later, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.
The body of the homicide victim, a 17-year-old from Davenport, was found in Haines City near Jennings Road and Jack Watkins Road around 4:50 p.m., the agency said in a news release at the time of the shootings.

About 15 minutes earlier, a 17-year-old Winter Haven boy was the victim of the non-fatal shooting, which happened in the 600 block of Lemon Street in Dundee, the sheriff’s office said.
McGriff stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He’s known to frequent the Seminole Avenue West area of Lake Wales.
