President-elect continuing rapid-fire selections of names he would like in his second administration
By Joe Kovacs | November 11, 2024

President-elect Donald Trump is continuing his rapid-fire selections of names he would like to see serve in his administration.

Matt Gaetz: Attorney General

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., is nominated to be U.S. attorney general.

"It is my Great Honor to announce that Congressman Matt Gaetz, of Florida, is hereby nominated to be The Attorney General of the United States," Trump said.

"Matt is a deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice. Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan Weaponization of our Justice System.

"Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans' badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department. On the House Judiciary Committee, which performs oversight of DOJ, Matt played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, and exposing alarming and systemic Government Corruption and Weaponization. He is a Champion for the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

"Matt will root out the systemic corruption at DOJ, and return the Department to its true mission of fighting Crime, and upholding our Democracy and Constitution. We must have Honesty, Integrity, and Transparency at DOJ. Under Matt's leadership, all Americans will be proud of the Department of Justice once again."

Gaetz said in reaction: "It will be an honor to serve as President Trump's Attorney General!"

Tulsi Gabbard: Director of National Intelligence

Former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has been selected for director of national intelligence, a post that was created after Sept. 11, 2001, to make sure U.S. intel agencies communicate with each other.

"For over two decades, Tulsi has fought for our Country and for all Americans," Trump said.

"As a former candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both parties – She is now a proud Republican!"

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy: Department of Government Efficiency

"I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency," Trump said.

"Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the 'Save America' movement."

"This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!" stated Mr. Musk.

Pete Hegseth: Defense Secretary

U.S. Army veteran and Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth has been nominated to serve as U.S. Defense secretary.

"Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country," Trump said.

"Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America's enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down."

John Ratcliffe: CIA Director

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe will serve as the CIA director under President Trump.

"From exposing fake Russian collusion to be a Clinton campaign operation, to catching the FBl's abuse of Civil Liberties at the FISA Court, John Ratcliffe has always been a warrior for Truth and Honesty with the American Public," Trump said.

"When 51 intelligence officials were lying about Hunter Biden's laptop, there was one, John Ratcliffe, telling the truth to the American People."

Bill McGinley: White House Counsel

Bill McGinley will serve as White House counsel for President Trump.

"Bill is a smart and tenacious lawyer who will help me advance our America First agenda while fighting for election integrity and against the weaponization of law enforcement," Trump said.

"He served in my first term as White House Cabinet Secretary and played a major role in our election victory as the RNC's Outside Counsel for Election Integrity."

Steven C. Witkoff: Special envoy to the Middle East

President-elect Trump is appointing Steven C. Witkoff to be special envoy to the Middle East.

"Steve is a Highly Respected Leader in Business and Philanthropy, who has made every project and community he has been involved with stronger and more prosperous," Trump said.

"Steve will be an unrelenting Voice for PEACE, and make us all proud …"

Mike Huckabee: Ambassador to Israel

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has been nominated to be U.S. ambassador to Israel.

"Mike has been a great public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for many years," Trump said.

"He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East."

Marco Rubio: Secretary of State

President-elect Trump is expected to nominate Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida as U.S. secretary of state.

A fierce critic of the terror group Hamas, the three-term senator was actually considered as Trump's running mate over the summer before Sen. JD Vance of Ohio became the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Kristi Noem: DHS Secretary

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is expected to be nominated as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

The department oversees U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Secret Service and FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Mike Waltz: National Security Adviser

U.S. Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., has been offered the post of national security adviser.

The congressman from the Sunshine State is the first retired Green Beret to serve in Congress and is no stranger to defense matters, advising former Defense Secretaries Donald Rumsfeld and Robert Gates.

Waltz has been a critic of U.S. aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia. In November, he told NPR the U.S. had "leverage" to get Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table to discus a "diplomatic resolution" to stop the conflict.

Fox News noted: "Elevating a House lawmaker to the administration could complicate Republicans' ability to govern the chamber."

"Waltz is in a safe red seat on the eastern Florida coast, so it's highly unlikely to fall into Democratic hands. But replacing a House member is a process that could take several weeks."

Elise Stefanik: U.N. Ambassador

Trump also selected his longtime ally U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., to serve as ambassador to the United Nations.

"I am honored to nominate Chairwoman Elise Stefanik to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations," Trump said in a statement Monday.

"Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter."

Elise Stefanik single-handedly ousted three university presidents who wouldn’t commit to protecting Jewish students.

Now, on to the United Nations…

Tom Homan: Border Czar

Also selected by Trump is former acting ICE Director Tom Homan, who told Fox News he is "honored" to be tapped as the "border czar."

— WorldNetDaily (@worldnetdaily) November" class="redactor-linkify-object">https://twitter.com/worldnetda... 11, 2024

"I've been on this network for years complaining about what this administration did to this border. I've been yelling and screaming about it and what they need to do to fix it. So when the president asked me, 'Would you come back and fix it?' Of course. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't. I'm honored the president asked me to come back and help solve this national security crisis, so I'm looking forward to it," he told "Fox & Friends" Monday in his first interview since being chosen for the role.

Trump’s border czar Tom Homan absolutely owned AOC

"I think the calling is clear," he continued, "I've got to go back and help because every morning … I'm pissed off with what this [Biden] administration did to the most secure border in my lifetime, so I'm going to go back and do what I can to fix it."

Lee Zeldin: EPA
Also Monday, Trump named former New York congressman Lee Zeldin to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, saying he will "ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted in a way to unleash the power of American businesses."

"Zeldin also will maintain "the highest environmental standards, including the cleanest air and water on the planet," Trump added.

On Fox News Monday, Zeldin said he'll look to ensure America is able to "pursue energy dominance … bring back American jobs to the auto industry and so much more."

Zeldin added he's excited to help manifest Trump's economic agenda: "I think the American people are so hungry for it. It's one of the big reasons why they're sending him back to the White House."

Stephen Miller: Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy

Trump also chose longtime adviser Stephen Miller as his deputy chief of staff for policy, a selection that does not need Senate confirmation since it's not a Cabinet position.
Miller is among the longest-serving aides to Trump, dating back to his 2016 White House campaign.

Miller drew large cheers at Trump's Madison Square Garden rally, telling the crowd, "your salvation is at hand," after what he cast as "decades of abuse that has been heaped upon the good people of this nation – their jobs looted and stolen from them and shipped to Mexico, Asia and foreign countries. The lives of their loved ones ripped away from them by illegal aliens, criminal gangs and thugs who don't belong in this country."

Susie Wiles: Chief of Staff

Miller will be working with Susie Wiles, Trump's senior campaign adviser he chose to be his chief of staff last week.

"Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns," Trump said.

Trump talks about his now Chief of Staff Susie Wiles at a grocery store campaign stop in Pennsylvania:

“Susie Wiles is here. She’s low key. Her father was Pat Summerall — a great great announcer — great football player… she’s got good genetics.”

"Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again."

A tweet (X-post) by reannadilley said the following.

"Things that were better under Trump and failing under Biden:

Banks
Interest rates
Gas
Food
Income
Trains
Planes
Automobiles
Manufacturing
Energy
Border
Foreign Relations
Small Businesses
National Debt
Morale
Cost of Living
Military
Trade
Retirement
National Security
Housing...."

Obviously, tens of millions of Americans thought much the same. Many are still thanking God that we have dodged a proverbial bullet by electing Trump (R) vs. Kamala Harris (D).

Speaking of reannadilley's last X-post cited item: housing...

Nicholas Julian for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recently made remarks via their website that underscored how local zoning regulations are often a barrier to more affordable housing. See more on that at this link here. Recall that this writer for the Patch previously shared observations by teenage "TARK" who cited the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) researchers Pamela Blumenthal and Regina Gray saying that for 50 years it has been known what causes a lack of affordable housing. Zoning and regulation barriers are among them.

TARK-‘I’m a Teen and Know the Solution to Affordable Housing Crisis’

The lack of affordable housing was cited as a top election concern by surveys.

In this writer's ongoing series on the Patch it was reported that the lack of affordable housing and barriers to more affordable homes related issues are being brought to the Trump Transition team.

https://patch.com/florida/lake...

As MHLivingNews said on 11.13.2024: "The lack of affordable housing was one of the top issues that guided voting decisions according to various pollsters. The lack of affordable housing near where it is needed in the U.S. costs the economy about $2 trillion dollars a year in economic drag.

The new Trump cabinet and senior advisors, chief of staff and other presidential team members are being organized. More details on the nuances before or since the election can be found...on our series on the Patch, which included articles on the political, economic, messaging, and media angles plus several affordable housing and manufactured home focused items among them. With those thoughts in mind, the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) issued a media release, provided [above], urgently asking the incoming Trump transition team to intervene in the controversial application of the Biden-Harris (D) regime’s Department of Energy (DOE) manufactured housing energy rule. Reports on that topic from MHARR are linked here and on MHProNews are linked here."

Today (11.14.2024) on MHProNews, left-leaning Bing's Artificial Intelligence powered Copilot revealed some shocking insights into concerns raised about the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI).

There are other issues related to top concerns for Americans including problematic reporting by some in mainstream media, the so-called "rigged system," and more that are covered in this series. See select items pre- and post-election that follow.
