Adam Lunn named new director at Lakeland International Airport (wtsp.com) — Lakeland residents will see familiar leadership at their airport as longtime staffer Adam Lunn is officially promoted from interim to director of Lakeland International Airport. City officials praise his role in recent infrastructure growth, and Lunn says he's focused on expanding travel options, aviation-related jobs, and education partnerships that could benefit the wider community.
   

2. Lakeland Completes 46th Annual Swan Health Checkup (lkldnow.com) — Lakeland families braved Wednesday's rain to take part in the city's beloved 46th annual swan health checkup, where kids could safely hold the famous birds. Parks director Bob Donahay says the flock stands at 59 swans this year, with the city now carefully regulating numbers to keep Lake Morton's population healthy and sustainable.
   

3. Tax Deed 222-2026 (midfloridanewspapers.com) — A Lakeland property at 3827 Featherwood Trail in Dove Hollow South is scheduled for an online tax deed auction on November 19, 2026, unless back taxes are paid. Polk County officials warn anyone with ownership or legal interest that unpaid taxes could lead to the property's sale and direct payments to the county tax collector.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Parades Polk County 2026 (centralfloridalifestyle.com) — Lakeland families can take their kids to a free Trick-or-Treat Parade at the Florida Children's Museum in Bonnet Springs Park on Friday, October 30, 2026, with parades at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Costumed children will collect treats from museum offices in a low-scare, family-friendly setting, while another free parade option is available that afternoon in Zephyrhills.
