Tampa Bay area residents who play the Florida Lotto may want to check their tickets. A $10 million winner was purchased in the region.

LUTZ, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who play Lotto may want to pull out their tickets and check those numbers carefully. A $10 million winning ticket in Wednesday’s drawing was purchased in the region.
According to Florida Lottery officials, the lucky winner bought the ticket at the 54 Food Mart, 26556 Wesley Chapel Blvd., in Lutz. So far, the person who happened to pick the numbers hasn’t come forward.
The numbers that won the May 18 drawing were: 2, 8, 13, 17, 25 and 49. While only one winner picked all six numbers on Wednesday, 26 did pull off five. Those winners will each get $4,248.50, according to the lottery.

The lucky Lotto player isn’t the only one from the Tampa Bay area to win big in recent history. Back in April, a St. Petersburg man brought home a $700,000 jackpot courtesy of numbers a psychic supplied years ago. A New Port Richey resident also won $2 million in the April 6, Powerball drawing.
Not all Florida Lottery winners choose to keep their earnings. A 90-year-old Largo resident made headlines in February by opting to give away a $43 Million Lotto jackpot.
