2 Sky Divers Hospitalized After Mid-Air Collision
The accident happened at Sky Dive City in Zephyrhills Tuesday.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A mid-air collision at Sky Dive City in Zephyrhills Tuesday has sent two people to local hospitals as trauma alerts.
According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the Tuesday accident resulted in one sky diver landing on the 4241 Sky Dive Lane center’s grounds. The second sky diver landed on County Road 54 east of 23rd Street, the agency wrote in an email to media.
“Both divers were airlifted to trauma centers as trauma alerts,” an email from fire rescue said.

Authorities say both divers were able to deploy their chutes. One landed in the Sky Dive City drop zone. He was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries and was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon. The second skydiver landed on County Road 54, about 4 miles from the drop zone. He was taken to Tampa General in critical condition, fire rescue wrote in an email to media.
No further information is available, including the names of those involved.

Tuesday’s accident comes on the heels of an incident earlier this month that claimed the life of a 53-year-old Malabar man.
