DUI Wolf Pack Ready to Roam 4-County Area
Florida Highway Patrol troopers will be out in force over the long 4th of July weekend.

The Florida Highway Patrol’s Land O’ Lakes sub-district has a message for motorists who are entertaining the idea of drinking and driving this 4th of July weekend: Don’t do it.
To crackdown on those who don’t heed the advice, troopers are planning a four-county DUI Wolf Pack Operation that will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, July 3, and end around 2 a.m. Saturday. The operation will target roads in Pasco, Hillsborough, Hernando and Polk counties. Pinellas County has also announced its own operation.

- The Suncoast Parkway in Hernando and Pasco Counties
- The Veterans Expressway in Hillsborough County
- The Polk Parkway in Polk County
“Everyone is reminded to not drink and drive and (to) plan in advance for events where alcoholic beverages are consumed by utilizing designated drivers, taxi services or (holding) events where driving is not necessary,” the patrol announced in a media release. “Should motorists encounter impaired drivers, they are urged to contact the FHP by calling *FHP.”
Motorists who cannot find other ways home will also find AAA Auto Club South is operating its Tow 2 Go program over the long weekend.
