Update: Gas Leak Cleared on State Road 56

A construction crew was been evacuated.

Update May 7, 5:12 p.m.: TECO reports that the 2-inch gas line has been repaired. The line is intended to hook up to a restaurant being built in the area. No evacuations, other than the construction workers, were deemed necessary, officials say.

Pasco County Fire Rescue, the sheriffโ€™s office and emergency management are on the scene of a Thursday afternoon gas leak at 26835 State Road 56 in Wesley Chapel.

According to Pasco County spokesman Doug Tobin, it appears that contractors hit a 2-inch gas line. The only evacuations so far involved the construction crew, he noted.
