LARGO, FL — Four people were taken to area hospitals Wednesday morning after a crash involving 10 vehicles on 66th Street N., the Largo Police Department said in a news release.
The crash happened shortly before 7:45 a.m. in the 13000 block of 66th Street N.
Of the four people transported to hospitals, three suffered serious bodily injuries, including one person with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Six other people involved in the crash refused medical treatment at the scene.
Traffic investigators are working to determine what caused the crash. Preliminary information indicates there were no signs of impairment, police said.
The northbound lanes of 66th Street N will remain closed for part of Wednesday while investigators work at the scene. Police are rerouting traffic at 126th Avenue N. and asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
