The Uhuru Solidarity Movement and African People's Socialist Party will co-sponsor a demonstration on Saturday, September 5th to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the UN World Conference Against Racism in Durban South Africa, which declared that slavery is a crime against humanity.

The "Stop Lynching! Rally for Reparations!" demonstration will also call for transparency and justice for the more than 22 African people apparently lynched in the past year (African people found hanging from trees, drowned or burned and left by the side of the road).

This includes a 29-year-old African woman who was found hanging from a tree in St. Petersburg in July.

According to Jamie Simpson, Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement Southern Region: “Lynching and other forms of terror against African and Indigenous people is our legacy as white people. Historically, regular white people, whole families, communities and cities have enthusiastically carried out the most despicable acts of terror and violence to enforce social, political and economic control over African communities for our own benefit. It is our responsibility to take a stand against this barbarism.”

Take a stand against modern-day lynching, genocide, and white nationalist violence.
