Road rage incident lands Leesburg felon in prison for three and a half years (leesburg-news.com) — A Leesburg man has been sentenced to three and a half years in state prison after jurors found him guilty of firing a gun during a 2023 road rage confrontation on Lone Oak Drive. Prosecutors say he shot toward another driver’s car, deflating a tire, and the Leesburg Police investigation and video evidence helped secure convictions for a felon possessing a firearm and shooting at an occupied vehicle.
   

2. ‘Extremely irate' woman allegedly swings metal tumbler at police officer (leesburg-news.com) — Leesburg police report that a 61-year-old local woman was arrested after allegedly swinging a bag holding a metal tumbler at an officer responding to a disturbance at a Leesburg residence. Officers say she also kicked another woman with a pre-existing knee injury, and she now faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and simple battery, with a court date set for November 9.
   

3. Woman allegedly attacks girlfriend during fishing trip at Leesburg park (leesburg-news.com) — Police say a Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly punching her girlfriend during a late-night fishing trip at Herlong Park, with the victim treated at UF Health Leesburg Hospital. Officers and witnesses described a physical fight that spilled into the park entrance road, and the woman now faces a domestic battery charge after being booked into Lake County Jail and released on bond.
   

4. Orlando high school scores and statistics from Tuesday, Oct. 20 (orlandosentinel.com) — Leesburg High golfers are highlighted in regional score reports, with Colton Nail and Coraline Bracco posting individual rounds in boys and girls play at Harbor Hills Country Club. The roundup also lists many upcoming volleyball regional matches and bowling and golf results across Central Florida, giving Leesburg families context on how local teams stack up against nearby schools.
