• $1.68M in Surtax Funding (margatenews.net) — Margate is set to receive nearly $1.7 million in Broward County transportation surtax funds for resurfacing roads, fixing two key bridges, and improving sidewalks and drainage in Paradise Gardens. City leaders are expected to approve the agreement, which carries no direct fiscal impact to Margate and sets a 2028 completion deadline for all projects.

The blotter also lists numerous arrests across city neighborhoods between September 8 and 14, offering a clear snapshot of current public safety concerns.
   

• Knife-Wielding Man Threatened to Kill Denny's Customers, Rape Manager (margatetalk.com) — Customers at a Margate Denny's on North State Road 7 recently faced a frightening scene when a homeless man allegedly pulled a knife, threatened to kill them, and then threatened to rape the manager. Margate police quickly responded, used a Taser to detain him without further violence, and he now faces felony charges with bond set at $10,000.
