Beginner's Beekeeping Classes to be Held in Marianna

Beginner’s Beekeeping Classes will be held by the Chipola Beekeeper’s Association starting on Saturday, May 2nd. Anyone interested in beekeeping can attend the classes which will be held in the Clover Room at the Jackson County Extension Office located at 2741 Penn Avenue, Marianna, FL 32448, located just north a few miles of Exit 136 on I-10. Interested participants can register or ask for more information by calling (850) 557-3409 or by coming to the first class at 9 a.m. (Bring a hammer to the first class.) There will be a series of three classes on May 2nd, 9th and 16th with the final class at Millie Bee Farm with live bee colonies requiring protective gear. Attending auditorium sessions is free, but for $35 participants can get a copy of “First Lessons in Beekeeping” and all class handouts. Lunch will be served.
