Genner Hernandez is the latest in a string of big winners in South Florida who took home $1 million or more playing a scratch-off game.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — It’s been a lucky month for South Florida residents. At least five residents have won big — $1 million or more — in Florida Lottery scratch-off games in December.

The latest winner is a 44-year-old Fort Lauderdale man who took home a $2 million top prize from the 100X scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said in a news release.

Genner Hernandez chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.605 million. He claimed his prize at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
