23-Year-Old Killed in Motorcycle Accident
Darius Leroy Roberts was thrown from his white Kawasaki motorcycle.

MIAMI — A 23-year-old man was killed on Tuesday night when a black Ford Focus struck his motorcycle as he drove along State Road 989 near Old Cutler Road.
Darius Leroy Roberts was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center of Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident occurred at 10:17 p.m.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a witness told police that the driver of the 2015 black Ford Focus was attempting to make a left turn onto Old Cutler Road and collided with the front of Roberts' white Kawasaki motorcycle.
Roberts was thrown from the motorcycle and struck the windshield of the Ford Focus before coming to rest on the sidewalk on the northeast corner of the intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Ford Focus was identified as 52-year-old Beverly April, who suffered an undisclosed injury. She had three other passengers in the vehicle, including a two-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old woman, none of whom were injured.
