• Crandon Park North in Key Biscayne safe for swimmers after fecal-bacteria risk (miamiherald.com) — If you’ve been avoiding the water at Crandon Park North in Key Biscayne, Miami-Dade health officials say it’s now safe to swim again. New tests show Enterococcus bacteria levels have dropped back to acceptable standards, so last week’s fecal-pollution advisory has been lifted. Residents can check ongoing beach water results online or call the county health department for updates.    

• Miami Police Marine Patrol conducts cleanup to keep waters safe (nbcmiami.com) — Miami Police’s Marine Patrol spent today hauling an abandoned, capsized pontoon boat and other debris from Biscayne Bay to cut down on hazards for boaters and protect marine life. Officers say the city is tracking 23 derelict vessels, and they’re urging residents to report any suspicious abandoned boats so they can be removed.    

• Miami family loses thousands in alleged Facebook Marketplace rental scam (local10.com) — Miami police are warning renters after a local family with a Miami Beach business says they lost $2,000 in an alleged Facebook Marketplace rental scam tied to a man now facing fraud and theft charges. Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone affected to contact police and be cautious with online rental listings.
