Here are the top five stories today in Miami:

1. Miami International Airport (MIA) is currently on pace to surpass 50 million annual passengers for the first time in its history. The current record is 45.9 million passengers in 2019. Domestic passengers led the way with an increase of 26% compared to 2019, while international passengers are still below pre-pandemic levels. (CBS Miami)

2. A 25-year-old South Florida man is in a coma after police say he was shot during an armed robbery in Miami Beach. The suspect is still at large. Anyone with information is asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. (WSVN)

3. Dogphora is taking off in South Florida and headquartered in Doral. It aims to be "the world's first marketplace for trusted and premium pet products and services." The owner, Les Palmer, said it wants "to make it easier for pet parents to shop for premium products." (Miami New Times)

The Miami City Commission is planning to discuss today whether to request proposals to continue the historic Olympia Theater and Tower's restoration and move forward with appointing a permanent operator. The city has hired R.J. Heisenbottle Architects to prepare a conditions assessment report and to assist in the preparation of a scope of service for a Request for Proposals (RFP). (Miami Today)
