Local and county leaders are exploring a Joint Rural Protection Area and related agreements, even as they navigate possible conflicts with Florida’s SB 180 development law. Decisions later this summer could shape where growth can and cannot go. 
• BMW driver arrested on DUI charge after weaving through traffic near Florida Turnpike (leesburg-news.com) — A Minneola resident was recently arrested on a DUI charge after police say he drove erratically on U.S. 27 near the Florida Turnpike. Officers reported signs of impairment and say he refused field sobriety tests and some breath testing before being booked into Lake County Jail and later released on bond.
