HUDSON, FL — A 61-year-old motorcyclist from Hudson died Monday afternoon after being struck by a tractor-trailer truck on U.S. 19.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 4:40 p.m., the motorcyclist was traveling north on U.S. 19 approaching Tower Drive as a 43-year-old Spring Hill man was driving a tractor-trailer truck south on U.S. 19.

The motorcyclist made a U-turn into the path of the tractor-trailer truck and suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
