91-Year-Old Woman's Death Ruled a Homicide

The woman was found in her New Port Richey home Wednesday.

When deputies discovered Carolyn J. Martin’s body in her New Port Richey home Tuesday, they said the circumstances were suspicious.

On Thursday, they announced the death had been ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the agency received a call about Martin’s death at 11:36 a.m. July 28. Initially it appeared that Martin, 91, had fallen in her 6626 Florida Ave. home, an email from the agency to media stated. Further investigation, however, led them to label the death suspicious.
