Boil Water Notice In Effect For Parts Of Port Richey

The city of Port Richey has issued a boil water notice due to a water main break caused by a private contractor performing work in the area.

PORT RICHEY, FL -- The city of Port Richey has issued a boil water notice due to a water main break caused by a private contractor performing work in the area.

The outage includes the service area morth of Salt Springs Road on the west side of U.S. 19, including the following subdivisions: West Port, Brown Acres East and Brown Acres West.

As a precaution, when service returns residents are advised to boil all water used for drinking and cooking for at least one minute.

This Precautionary Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, at which point the boil water notice will be rescinded. Generally the boil water notice is in effect for three working days beginning the day the pressure is lost.
