PORT RICHEY, FL — On Monday, the City of Port Richey has issued a boil water notice due to distribution system upgrades.

This notice is only for the service area of Marina Palms, River Gulf Point and Bayou Vista along U.S. 19 south of the Pithlachascotee River Bridge in Port Richey.

Service to the east of U.S. 19 will not be affected.

As a precaution, residents are advised to boil water used for drinking or cooking. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.

As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This Precautionary Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, at which point the boil water notice will be rescinded.

Generally, the boil water notice is in effect for three working days beginning the day the pressure is lost. A notice rescinding the order will be issued when the water is determined to be safe.
