Attacking Witches!

Just recently a great friend of mine had her house shot at.  There were even "bombs" thrown at her house.  Even obscenities yelled at her and her husband.  She's an author, environmentalist and a witch.  You would probably wonder what country does she live in.  Well the both of them live right here in the US of A.  To be more specific they live in New Port Richey.

Have we returned back to the burning times where witches were tortured, burned at the stake and killed for their beliefs?  After all this is 2013 and we live in the United States of America, the land of the FREE, home of the brave.  The only brave ones in all this appear to be this family.  They are not being scared away.  They are not leaving.  They are standing tall and proud. Yet they are not free because of the hate.  You may think and believe that they are still free but they are not.  You are not free when you worry about the vehicle that has stopped in front of your house for no reason.  You are not free when you hear a loud bang near your house and you wonder if it's gun fire or another bomb going off directed towards you.  You are not free when you have to constantly look behind your back to make sure you are safe.  You are not free when you are the victum of hate.   Even some of their so called friends are distancing themselves from them out of fear that they will be next.  That's not freedom!

I call it hate because any attack on another individual because of their spiritual or religious beliefs is a hateful act.  An act that is TAUGHT to the attackers.  Hate is not something that comes natural, it is taught.  Why would someone teach hate towards another because of their beliefs?

They are taught hate out of fear.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of the truth.  These people who are teaching this hate are teaching from a mis-interpretation of ancient writings.  How can there be a mis-interpretation?  Easy - the interpretations are geared towards ultimate power and control.  These are people who have no life, people who want to be popular.  They think that the way to do this is by teaching hatred and saying that THEY know the truth in the ancient teachings.  Those who are doing these attacks are feeling powerful because they are probably being told "good job" and being praised that they have not stopped.  These attackers have no life, they are lonely and seeking acceptance in any way they can.  Who's next to be attacked?

This is why we have so many religious wars, because of these hateful interpretations.  Kyrja is so open minded and loving that even though Be The Light Spiritual and Wellness Center is some what Christian based, she still helps support us by helping with our recycling drives as well as bringing in supplies for our food pantry.  We are not the only local place that she helps.  They help out where ever they can for anyone in need regardless of their beliefs.

In the past few months I have been told that Be The Light is too Christian and I've also been told that we are not Christian enough.  These values and ideas are taught. Both these ideas are correct, we are who we are, loving, compassionate and caring for everyone in the community, caring for others regardless of their beliefs.  Just like Kyrja and her husband, they are who they are - two unconditionally loving individuals who care about their community, even caring for those who believe differently than they do.  Even while others in the community would be saying to burn the witches and some even wanting Kyrja to hurt those who are attacking them.  They say NO!!  The hate and hurt has to stop some place.  Kyrja and her husband want to help those doing these attacks, help them to learn about others who are different and see other people for who they truly are - free thinking loving human beings!

So if anyone knows anything about these local attacks, please contact the New Port Richey Police Department.  There is a $200 reward for information  leading to the arrest and conviction of those who are doing these attacks.
