Discovery Point #47, Hosted a Spring Fling

SPRING FLING

Discovery Point #47, in New Port Richey held a Spring Fling on Friday, March 15^th, 2013 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm for enrolled families, prospective families, friends and neighbors. This event was a kick-off introducing an education partnership with the multi-award winning early childhood education websiteABCmouse.com.  We were selected based on our recognized leadership in quality childcare in the State of Florida. As part of this partnership, ABCmouse.com is providing their leading edge, Smart Cart interactive classroom technology at Discovery Point New Port Richey.

This partnership extends to our parents who will have home-based access to an unparalleled breadth of online curriculum in reading, mathematics, science, music and art that align with the classroom learning activities for their children.  Teachers will recommend learning activities that are customized to enhance their child's development.  

Everyone enjoyed a variety of activities which included Games and prizes, Bounce House and Slide provided by Bounce Party, Face painting and balloon art by Safari of Smiles, Pizza from Papa Murphy’s Pizza, and much more. New York Life Child ID program provided parents with a complimentary Identification Card, complete with a CD including a photograph and fingerprints of their children. All Children’s Hospital provided parents with car seat safety information as well as bike safety information and free bike helmets’. Many local merchants donated gift certificates which were raffled to participants. The merchants included: Jungle Bus, Happy Feet, Little Sluggers, Build and Play, Little Techs, Chik-Fil-A, Fantastic Sams, Posh Salon, Home Depot, Publix, Tuffy, Photo Booth, Spiderman, Checkers, doTerra, Zim Zari, McDonalds, Sonny’s BBQ, Marshalls, Military Standards Window Cleaning, Dunkin Donuts, TCBY, Five Guys, Beef O’ Bradys, Regions Bank, Taco Bell, Juice Plus, GTS Preferred Collision, Salon Ke-Lani, Pasco County Sheriffs, Pasco County Fire Dept., Verizon, and Girl Scouts/Daisies.

We would like to thank all of our teachers who are working together to provide a high-quality early childhood education program which helps children to learn and get ahead and has lasting benefits to our community.
