GEEKNOTE: Business Development Week

The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce presents the 20th annual Business Development Week next week.

GEEKNOTE:  The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce's 20th annual Business Development Week kicks off on Saturday, January 26th and runs through Friday, February 1st.

Much like the 19 BDWs that came before, this one promises to have a lot of great programs designed to help small business owners grow their businesses.  Other than the meal events, there is no charge to attend.

I first got involved with BDW back in the mid-90's and have been a member of the committee ever since.  To say that I think BDW is the best single thing the Chamber does wouldn't be far from the truth.

Doug Van Dyke will be the speaker at the Kickoff Luncheon on January 28th with the topic "Leadership Principles That Deliver Results".  The Luncheon is at the Spartan Manor.

Saturday will feature a Business to Consumer expo in the Gulfview Mall.

Monday night will feature my friend Greg Smith talking about marketing your business with mobile websites and mobile apps.  This presentation will be at the New Port Richey Public Library.  Please help me pack the room for Greg.

"Tech Tuesday" will include Gil Effron talking about doing an "Extreme Marketing Makeover", a "Tech Trends" luncheon, and a presentation from the FBI on Cyber Crime.  All of these will be at PHCC on Ridge Road and I'm probably going to be there all day.

BDW moves to the Marchman Tech Center on Wednesday for a bunch of Score workshops and a luncheon featuring the new Chamber President, Chip Wichmanowski.  Wednesday concludes with a Business to Business Expo at the Verizon Center on Little Road.

Thursday starts at Seven Springs Golf & Country Club for the annual "Success Stories" breakfast and then back to PHCC for more great programs, including a Successful Women in Business luncheon and the city's own Steven Rosenthal speaking on how to sharpen your negotiation skills.

Friday includes a Marketing program bright and early at Sun Toyota and concludes with the annual PEDC luncheon at the Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club.

You can download a flyer with a complete list of events from http://www.westpasco.com/BDWscheduleweb.pdf or you can drop by my store and pick up a printed copy.

The meal events in particular require reservations, so you'll want to pick out what you plan to attend and call the chamber to reserve your spot.

You do NOT need to be a chamber member to attend.  I look forward to seeing you next week at BDW.

Feel free to drop me a note or give me a call if you have any questions about your computer.
