Just CrossPoint: Women's and Girls' Conference Right Around the Corner

One of the longest running ministries at CrossPoint Church is its ministry for women.  Pastor Wilna Erasmus shares the following history and invitation to join the ministry at an exciting upcoming event:

SHINE!, the women’s ministry of CrossPoint Church, held their first gathering in October 2010. For 13 weeks we met in the children’s room and learned from the Word.  We took a short break, and then started another series, followed by two more.  We came up with a name SHINE!, based on the Scripture found in The Book of Mathew 5: 16 that says we need to have the light of Jesus shine through us.

Since our first meeting 2 ½ years ago we have learned so much!  We have grown spiritually, added worship, social gatherings, fun events and charity projects to our activities. Who will ever forget THE GIRL IN THE HAT?  We all wore hats and still have a good laugh when we look at the pictures! This year we ventured out in faith to host our first Women’s and Girls’ conference called COME RAIN OR SHINE: God's promises are for you, for now! We picked a red umbrella theme as a symbol of God's everlasting blood covenant with us, and His protection and promises for His children.

COME RAIN OR SHINE will kick off on Friday, May 3rd at 7 PM.  We will meet at CrossPoint Church for a teaching by Karen Tillema, who will share the Word in a creative and relevant way.  With her bubbly personality and ability to make you laugh, she will put a smile on your face but also leave you thinking with what will be a memorable teaching.  On Saturday morning, May 4^th, we will meet at Seven Springs Country Club for a morning of fun.  Pastor Wilna Erasmus, herself an inspiring speaker and co-founder of CrossPoint Church, will lead the morning off with an excellent teaching.  Rita Sutue, children's director and motivational speaker, will be speaking to the young girls.  Joining Rita will be Kathleen and Alicia, two of the Vindicated Youth leaders (Vindicated Youth is the teen ministry of CrossPoint Church).  Worship will be led by a gifted young singer, Jacollene Graham.  A banquet lunch will be served at 12:30 PM.  The day will end with a drawing for door prizes.   Above all, we pray that all the women and girls will leave the conference encouraged, knowing God's promises are there through rain or shine!
