New Port Richey Cleanup

The city of New Port Richey is resiliant, caring and hardworking. If there was any doubt about that, the community proved it last Saturday when almost 400 people came together to clean-up the Hacienda Hotel. 

The Hacienda has been vacant for the better part of a decade and during that time it has deterioated. What was once a place for movie stars has become a blighted property right on Main Street. 

One has to wonder how this could happen. Who let this community jewel fall into such disrepair and why? What can be done to hold those responsible for this apparent deterioration of this histocal landmark accountable?

This Friday night at 7PM, the community will be gathering again and we will be putting someone forward to hold those indivduals accountable by celebrating the Kickoff of the Michael Malterer for City Council Campaign.

I, like many of you, remember a time when New Port Richey took pride, not only in the Hacienda Hotel, but in being the best city in Pasco County - to work in and to live in. This campaign is about restoring New Port Richey to its rightful place as the "Pride of Pasco."
