Religion and control

So many people are turning to Metaphysics as a religion because they are tired of the control that was being pushed on them from their previous religious faiths.  Through Metaphysics people are able to worship God in a way that helps them to grow and feel closer to our creator.  People who are metaphysical believe that God is not the punishing type of God.  God is an unconditionally loving God.

When you study the worlds "major" religions, you see that those who have fought wars are the ones who teach about a vengeful god, a god who talks about violence.  For everyone who is a parent, no matter what your child has done you would not want them tortured for anything they have done wrong, you want them to learn from that to be a better person.  That's exactly what our God teaches us.  Teaches us to learn through our mistakes so that we do not do them again.

We believe in reincarnation.  Through each lifetime we grow closer to God and are given the opportunity to learn and hopefully not to do certain things over again.  We are given the opportunity whether to come back right away or to continue our lessons in spirit.  We plan the basics of what our lives will be like, we choose our parents and family, choose our careers we will have as well as what our lives will be like.  It's all very basic and our lessons are on how we accomplish our goals for this life.  For those who hurt others, it was their "free will" and a choice that they have made in this lifetime.  This is one reason why we do not remember anything about being in the spirit world.  It would prevent us from becoming who we choose to be and would stop us from learning any lessons.

BUT -- if we go against natural law (not religious based natural law) - God's natural law of doing NO harm to another - then you are immediately forced to come back into this world.  God chooses what our lives will be like for us and our free will is taken away as far as choosing the basics of our lives.  We again have choices to make here to pay back the hurt we have done.  

Those who are forced to come back have a strong feeling that they have to do better, that they have to help others no matter how that happens.  And they will be forced to relive certain situations to see if they again make the wrong choice.  We all know those feelings.  Like when we are children and your friends say go ahead hit so and so, beat them up.  Do you beat up the person or not?  You know it's wrong, what choice do you make?

So what does this all have to do with religion and control?  So many of the major religions all teach about a hateful God, one that will condemn you to fire and brimstone for all eternity.  So what does this do to some?  It makes one fearful.  Especially when those same ideals are taught that only that religion is the one true religion.  When they are taught that asking questions will lead God to punish you to damnation.  When they are taught that the words of the preacher or priest are the true words from God and that if you don't obey you again will be damned.

What does this do?  It leads to control, total control, based on fear.  We at Be The Light Chapel do not teach or preach about eternal damnation.  We teach and preach about unconditional love.  God's true love for all of us.  God doesn't care what your race is, what your sexual orientation is, what your political beliefs are, God doesn't care about any of that.  

God loves you for exactly who you are, and so do we!
