Why We Need To Vote

An Open Letter to my Family, Friends and Fellow Patriots

There is a momentous day a few short weeks ahead of us, that day is November 6, 2012.

That day is going to determine the future of this nation, our future, our childrens' and grandchildren' 'future and the world.

With the exception of Native Americans and their descendents, there is not one amongst us whose ancestors did not come here from some other land. Even, if you can trace your roots back to the landing at Jamestown in 1607, your ancestors came from somewhere else.

And why did they come here? They came here to live in freedom-religious freedom, political freedom, freedom of speech and the freedom to rise above their circumstances to build a better life for themselves and their children. To be able to give their children, the ability to dream, to learn and to achieve.

This dream is slowly being extinguished, and the promise of America is slowly being eroded through policies and regulation, through the denial of Constitutional rights, the stifling of free speech through fear of arrest and incarceration, not in a jail but in a psychiatric facility, the total disregard for personal privacy for the sake of national security.

Ben Franklin stated, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." And he is right because our ancestors came here not to be safe but to be FREE ! Free from oppression, free to worship, free to speak their minds and the freedom and opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their families through hard work, perseverance and faith.

We are now being told that everything we have is due to the magnificence of the government. Is that not the ideology of Stalin, Lenin and Marx? That everything we have is through the benevolence of the Government? Have Americans forgotten that Henry Ford made cars BEFORE there were paved roads and Americans PAID to have the roads built to drive those cars on? Everything the Government has achieved or failed at, we the people paid for through taxes and tariffs ! The government cannot build, create or innovate anything without taxpayer dollars. Did not our ancestors build this country from their back breaking labor and the sweat of their brows? Did they not leave oppression, persecution and tyranny behind to live and bask in freedom and work to ensure that their children did not live under the circumstances that they had risked their lives to leave?

Yes, my friends, November 6, 2012, is momentous day to either re-set the course that our ancestors risked their lives to build, gave their lives to defend and left as an inheritance for their descendents or let the season circle back to the oppressions they left behind.
