Brothers Arrested Following Year-Long Drug Investigation
The bust was part of an ongoing effort to crack down on opioid dealers in Pasco County who have been preying on opioid addicts.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Two brothers are behind bars after being arrested by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office on several drugs, weapons and money laundering charges.
During a press conference Monday, sheriff's Capt. Mike Jenkins announced the arrest of Marco Maysonet, 33, and Fernando Maysonet, 29, following a year-long investigation.
The brothers were arrested Friday after a search warrant was served on their Port Richey homes where deputies confiscated large amounts of drugs and cash.

Investigators said the brothers were selling opioids along the U.S. 19 corridor in Pasco County. Jenkins said the bust was part of an ongoing effort to crack down on opioid dealers in Pasco County who have been raking in large amounts of money by preying on opioid-addicted residents.
During their investigation, sheriff's detectives could only find evidence of two handyman jobs Fernando Maysonet worked, earning $800. Nevertheless, he deposited more than $100,000 into his bank accounts in the past three years.

He's been charged with money laundering, trafficking hydromorphone, conspiracy to traffic hydromorphone, trafficking oxycodone, sale and possession of heroin and possession of fentanyl.
Investigators also found hydromorphone, suboxone, oxycodone and heroin in Marco Maysonet's house along with firearms.
He's been charged with five counts of felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, trafficking hydromorphone, hydrocodone and oxycodone, possession of heroin and possession of a controlled substance.

The brothers could face attempted murder charges as well in connection to two people who overdosed after purchasing drugs from the pair.
In all, the sheriff's office seized $400,000 in cash, vehicles and residential and personal property, Jenkins said.
