How long should I burn my soy candle?
Soy wax has a memory, so the first time you light a candle, burning it until achieve a full melt pool. If you blow it out(extinguish it) before that, the next time the candle pool will not extend beyond the first, then the you will start a tunnel affect. As a general rule, burn the candle, 1 hour per inch of the diameter of the candle. This allows both the candle fragrance to distribute throughout a room, and it allows the soy wax to heat evenly to the sides of the candle, so that it burns down evenly and with minimal residue. However, if you are a “Power” Candle Burner that likes to keep a candle burning from morning to night, it’s very important to extinguish the candle every 3-4 hours and trim the wick and let the candle cool

Blow the candle out. This could be caused by a couple of things. It could be that the wick needs to be trimmed. Trim the wick on your candle; it should be 1/4" high. If your wick is already trimmed to 1/4", then check for a draft or excess oxygen fanning the flame. Heating vents, ceiling fans, windows or even a heavily used walkway or doorway can provide enough extra oxygen to cause a candle to smoke and produce a wild flame. Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans and air currents. This will help prevent rapid, uneven burning this is one of the National Candle Association: Fire Safety - Candle Safety Rules. Also your candle will burn much faster.
