HUDSON, FL β Shoplifting suspects learned the hard way that you can't outrun sheriffβs cruisers in a stolen recreational vehicle.
On Friday, Feb 9 at about 9:30 a.m., Pasco County Sheriffβs deputies attempted to stop an RV that had been stolen from the Beacon Woods subdivision. The three people in the RV were wanted for shoplifting items at the Wal-Mart, 12610 U.S. 19.
When the occupants of the RV saw that deputies were in pursuit, two of the occupants jumped out.

The driver, however, sped up and tried to evade deputies on U.S. 19. At that point, deputies backed off to prevent any innocent bystanders from getting injured.
But deputies maintained visual contact with the RV. When they saw the RV pull into the parking lot of Bayonet Point Hospital, a sheriffβs sergeant attempted to block it with a marked sheriff's sports utility vehicle. The RV driver rammed the SUV but deputies were able to prevent the driver from escaping.
