Paddle with us from our launch point at Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park CSO headquarters to Durney Key, a small tropical spoil island a mile off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico. We will disembark to explore the island, socialize, and maybe have some snacks. While we're on the island, you might want to picnic, swim, snorkel, find shells, or paddle around one of the nearby stilt houses.
This will be a 4 mile excursion, with most of the trip in open Gulf waters - so it is not recommended for beginner paddlers.
All paddlers must bring their own kayak or canoe. Each person is required to have a USCG approved personal floatation device. Participants must also sign a liability waiver before launching.
