Highway Patrol Investigates Fatal Crash On U.S. 19
One man is dead and another has serious injuries following an accident Saturday night, May 26, at U.S. 19 and Denton Avenue.
HUDSON, FL -- One man is dead and another has serious injuries following an accident Saturday night, May 26, at U.S. 19 and Denton Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Michael Thienes, 67, of Hudson was leaving 15942 U.S. 19 in a 2011 GMC Arcadia at 8:21 p.m., entering U.S. 19 north of Denton Avenue.
At the same time, Derek Fingerle, 30, of Hudson, was traveling south in the center lane of U.S. 19 on a Yamaha motorcycle when they collided. Fingerle's motorcycle struck the left side of the Arcadia and Fingerle was ejected from the motorcycle, receiving fatal injuries.

Thienes was taken to Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
