Update: Man Dead Following Neighbor Shooting In Holiday

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies investigate shooting at 3519 Richboro Drive in Beacon Square, Holiday.

HOLIDAY, FL – Pasco County Sheriff's deputies are trying to determine why one neighbor would shoot another to death in his front yard in broad daylight.

According to Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco, the call reporting the shooting at 3519 Richboro Drive in Beacon Square, Holiday, came in at 12.22 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23.

"We had deputies just around the corner so they got here immediately," Nocco said.

The victim was identified as Edward Tudor, 37, according to the sheriff's office. Nocco said Tudor was shot in his front yard. Nocco said he managed to yell to a neighbor to call 911 before dying from his gunshot wounds.

When deputies arrived, another neighbor walked out of his house carrying two magazines of ammunition. The man, identified as Qiu Feng Kek, 61, admitted to being involved in the shooting and was taken into custody.

Nocco said Tudor was in his house studying when Kek came to his door. Kek said he had an ongoing dispute with Tudor. When Tudor answered his door, Kek said he walked in with two loaded handguns and began to shoot Tudor. Tudor crawled outside and Kek said he continued to shoot his neighbor. He told police he planned to shoot a woman in the house as well and then hang himself.

"We're still trying to piece this together -- why a neighbor would take someone’s life like this," Nocco said. "It’s a very tragic day for the family, and we pray for them."

Having gunshots ring out in a quiet neighborhood in the middle of the day has left residents "unsettled," he said.

"The neighborhood is extremely upset but we have the shooter in custody and there is no danger to the neighborhood," Nocco said.
