Pasco Sheriff Identifies 2 Women In Weekend Deaths

Pasco Sheriff's Office detectives have released additional information on two suspicious deaths over the weekend.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Pasco Sheriff's Office detectives have released additional information on two suspicious deaths over the weekend.

The woman found dead in a car at the end of Olney Lane in Spring Hill on Saturday, Aug. 4, has been identified as Doris Joan Bashaw, 71, of 8651 Bass Lake Drive, New Port Richey.

The initial autopsy did not identify a cause of death and detectives are awaiting toxicology test results, which could take up to six weeks to complete.

The woman found dead at the Sunny Dale Villas Apartments in New Port Richey Sunday, Aug. 5, has been identified as Christine Mary Nelson, 49, of 6911 Menifee Court, Apt. 1, New Port Richey. Her cause of death is not being released at this time. (See related story.)

Nelson was found dead in the apartment of Roy Toro, 58, of 6900 Medifee Court, Apt. 5. Toro also suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he is recovering.

This case is still being described as a suspicious death and remains under investigation.

Detectives do not believe that there is any danger to the public in either of these cases.
