Pasco Sheriff Says Uber Driver Aimed Gun At Texting Driver
A 41-year-old Uber driver was arrested after deputies said he pointed a gun at another driver because she was texting while driving.

PORT RICHEY, FL β A 41-year-old Uber driver was arrested Friday, June 22, after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said he pointed a gun at another driver because he was annoyed that she was texting while driving.
Philip Macchi of 12085 Hudson Ridge Drive, Port Richey, was driving near State Road 52 and U.S. 19 around 12:30 a.m. when he said he saw another driver texting while behind the wheel, according to the Pasco County Sheriffβs Office.
Macchio reportedly drove in front of the texting driver's car and tapped his brakes multiple times to get her attention. But she attempted to pass Macchio. That's when the woman said Macchio pointed a gun at her.

When he was pulled over, Macchio admitted he had a black Glock 19 in his center console. Police said it was unsecured and concealed.
He told deputies he was peeved because the other driver was was texting and driving. But he claimed he didn't point a gun at her. Instead, he showed her his cell phone to indicate she shouldn't be texting on the road.

Macchio was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and carrying a concealed firearm.
