Pasco Tax Collector Mike Fasano Announces the Launch of “The Arc of Florida/ Center for Independence Month”
Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano announces that The Arc of Florida/ Center for Independence will be the tax collector’s featured charitable organization for the month of July. The purpose of the month is to help raise funds to support those with developmental and other intellectual disabilities in our community. The Center for Independence is the Pasco County chapter of The Arc of Florida and is a key provider of services to those with a variety of disabilities. Services include residential, day-training, supported employment and transportation assistance.
“The Arc of Florida and Center for Independence are honored to be highlighted by the Pasco County Tax Collector’s office as July’s non-profit organization of the month,” said Deborah Linton, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc of Florida. “Donations through the check-off program fund services that change the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Pasco County.”
“We are proud to serve persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Pasco County, as they learn to Achieve with Us,” states Cathy Holland, Chief Executive Officer of The Center for Independence. “From day training programs to residential services we provide a supportive, educational and family environment on a daily basis. We invite you to come visit us!”

“I encourage customers to consider supporting the excellent services provided locally by The Center for Independence on behalf of The Arc of Florida,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano suggests. “There is probably not a person who does not know someone with a disability, whether a family member, friend or neighbor. The programs offered by The Center for Independence have made the lives of countless individuals better. Your donation of any amount will assist The Center to continue providing the highest level of care possible.”
Customers who wish to support The Arc of Florida/ Center for Independence may check-off the box on their auto registration form to contribute $1 or more to the fund. Cash donations will also be accepted by the tax collector.

The check-off promotion runs throughout July. Contributions to The Arc of Florida/ Center for Independence can be made at all four tax collector locations in Pasco County: New Port Richey, Gulf Harbors, Land O’ Lakes and Dade City. Contributions can also be added to renewals that are processed via the mail.
